Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Anton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Schafer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keith Schafer is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephan Anton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Keith Schafer!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anton moves forwards but Schafer connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Schafer connects with a solid leg kick.
Schafer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Schafer is looking to clinch.
Keith Schafer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anton on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Schafer. Schafer obviously looking to wear him down.
Anton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Schafer missing with a left hand there. Anton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Anton avoids the head kick by Schafer.
Schafer throws a front kick aimed at Anton's knee but Anton avoids it well.

Schafer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Schafer throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Anton blocks it with crossed arms.

Schafer is pressed up against the cage. Anton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Schafer down to the mat. Schafer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Schafer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Schafer tries to clinch up but Anton circles away and keeps his distance.

Schafer thumps Anton with a low kick.
Anton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stephan Anton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Schafer lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Schafer scores with a hook.
Schafer connects with a leg kick. Anton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Schafer connects with a right hand. Anton shakes it off.
Schafer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Anton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Schafer sprawls well. Schafer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Anton gets slowly back to his feet.
Anton shoots in looking for a takedown. Schafer tries to sprawl out of it but Anton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schafer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Anton.
Schafer is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Anton blocks a jab.
Anton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Schafer is fending him off so far but Anton persists. Nope, Schafer circles away and we're back to standing.
Anton misses with a takedown attempt - Schafer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Schafer fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Schafer lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Anton drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Keith Schafer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schafer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Anton. That did some damage!
Horrible takedown by Anton or perhaps it was just good defense by Schafer which made him look bad.
Anton shoots and misses
and Schafer counters with a one-two to the body.
Anton shoots in but no luck this time.
Anton is breathing heavily.
Schafer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anton.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Anton. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Anton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Schafer avoids it really well and circles away.

Schafer tries to bum rush Anton with a series of wild strikes but Anton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Schafer moves into range and clinches up with Anton.
Anton swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Anton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Schafer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Schafer lands an elbow that stopped Anton in his tracks for a moment.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Anton takes a knee to the side of the body.
Schafer landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Anton's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Anton wants to break free but Schafer has control.
Schafer content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Anton has a closed guard, preventing Schafer from standing up.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schafer is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Schafer is looking to stand up but Anton won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Anton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Schafer throws a lazy right hand but Anton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Anton on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Schafer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schafer wants it to stay on the feet.
Anton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schafer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That kick from Schafer tenderised Anton's leg. Anton is trying to keep his angry face on.
Good leg kick by Schafer there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Schafer lands a good knee to the midsection. Anton won't want to take too many of those.

Anton shoots for a double leg takedown but Schafer sprawls well. He's pushed Anton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Anton has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Stephan Anton has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schafer clobbers Anton with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Anton takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Anton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Schafer sizes up Anton with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The fighters circle momentarily. Schafer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Anton doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Schafer counters with a series of strikes. Anton will be more careful next time no doubt.

Anton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schafer as he avoids it easily.
Schafer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Anton takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Schafer counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Anton moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Anton looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Schafer lands a nice hook to Anton's body. Anton takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Anton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schafer but Schafer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keith Schafer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Anton stands up over Schafer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Anton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Anton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Schafer has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Anton off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Anton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Schafer scores with a hook to the body. Anton takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Anton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Schafer to the mat! Schafer manages to get full guard.

Anton is trying to escape the mount.
Anton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Stephan Anton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Schafer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Anton is looking to escape.
Anton regains half guard.
Schafer wants to stand up but Anton has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Schafer stands up and beckons Anton to join him on the feet.
Anton throws a lazy right hand but Schafer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Anton is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Anton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Schafer counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Anton is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Anton has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Schafer.
Schafer closes the distance and lands a one-two.

and Schafer counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Schafer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stephan Anton.
I think Schafer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
