PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Suon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suon comes to the ring accompanied by DMX. Davis has chosen The Who - Baba O'Riley as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Suon!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Davis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suon shoots in and drives through. Davis sprawls well.

Suon gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Davis stalling in the clinch but Suon improves position.

Suon lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Suon is thwarting Davis's attempts to control the position.
Davis is trying to stand up here but Suon is controlling him well.
Davis is trying to control but can't.
Suon thows a huge punch but Davis dodges it nicely.
Davis wants to get back to his feet.
Davis keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Davis is pressing down on Suon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Davis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Suon kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Suon thows a big elbow that misses.
Suon is breathing heavily.
Davis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Suon wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.
Suon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Suon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davis pinned against the cage. Davis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Davis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Suon moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Davis lands with an uppercut that bounces Suon off the ropes and back into rage.
Davis cracks a nice hook into Suon's ribs.
Suon tries to clinch but Davis moves out of range.
Davis closes the distance but Suon moves to the side

and Suon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davis's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Davis is looking to stand up but Suon isn't so interested in that idea.

Davis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Suon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Suon wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.
Davis looking for a sweep. Not yet Davis, not yet.
Suon passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Suon working the head with strikes.

Davis prevents Suon from moving into mount.
Suon landing a few strikes.

Suon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Davis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Suon moves into full mount! Davis won't be happy about that!

Suon looking to secure an arm triangle but Davis defends it well.
Suon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Suon tries to control but Davis wriggling away.

Suon with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Suon trying to control but Davis is having none of it.
Davis is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Suon breaks from Davis's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Suon blocks Davis's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Davis tries to reverse the position but Suon maintains control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Davis regains half guard.
Suon is trying to control the action in half guard but Davis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Suon dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Davis cracks Suon with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Some bone on bone action there as Suon checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Suon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Davis as he avoids it easily.
Suon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Davis swivels and escapes.
Suon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but Suon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Suon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Davis throws out a powerful jab.
Suon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Suon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Davis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Suon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davis pinned against the cage. Davis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Suon tries for a takedown but Davis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Davis wants to clinch.

Suon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Suon lands in his opponent's guard.
Suon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davis is keeping the position for now.

Suon scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Suon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Davis is trying to keep Suon in close.
Suon pushes down on Davis's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Davis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Suon is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Davis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Davis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Davis wants to clinch up but Suon keeps it at a distance.
Suon closes the distance and clinches up with Davis, looking for a takedown. Suon pushes Davis against the ropes but Davis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Suon shoots for a double leg takedown but Davis sprawls well. He's pushed Suon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Suon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Davis as he jumps to the side.
Craig Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Davis lands with a cross.
Suon throws a lazy right hand but Davis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Davis lands a nice looking body shot.
Suon shoots for a takedown but Davis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Davis scores with a sloppy right hand. Suon should have avoided that one.
Good exchange - Davis coming out on top.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Davis lands with an uppercut that bounces Suon off the ropes and back into rage.
Suon takes a jab right on the kisser.
Davis scores with a shot to the body.

Davis clinches up with Suon and pushes him back against the ropes.

Suon decides to pull guard.
Davis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Suon's head.

Davis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Suon to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Davis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Suon pulls down on the head and he's put Davis to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jack Suon!
