Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spox Beard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beard has chosen Spock's Beard - The Great Nothing as his entrance music. Hugo Rossi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beard throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rossi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rossi avoids the head kick by Beard.
Rossi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Beard thumps Rossi with a low kick.
Beard connects with a high kick.

It looks like Hugo Rossi has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rossi misses with a takedown attempt - Beard sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Beard closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rossi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Rossi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Beard to the mat! Beard manages to get full guard.
Rossi wants to control from the top but Beard keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rossi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beard swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Beard not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Rossi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rossi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Beard is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Beard has escaped and now he's on top!

Beard tries to stand but Rossi is controlling from the bottom.
Beard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Spox Beard has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Some bone on bone action there as Rossi checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Spox Beard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rossi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rossi somewhat.
No luck for Rossi with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugo Rossi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Beard throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rossi takes an elbow to the temple.
Beard lands a good knee to the midsection. Rossi won't want to take too many of those.
Rossi wants to take the fight to the mat but Beard manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Rossi tries to pull guard but Beard holds him up against the cage and eventually Rossi drops back down to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Rossi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Beard on his heels. He'll look to pass Beard's guard now, I'm sure.

Rossi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Beard's guard.
