PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Bourne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johua Nashigon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nashigon has chosen Live my life as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Johua Nashigon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bourne throws the kick towards the body but Nashigon avoids it.
Bourne closes the distance looking to clinch

so Nashigon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bourne controlling the position.
Bourne wants to stand up but Nashigon is controlling him.
Nashigon trying to control the position from guard on top but Bourne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bourne is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nashigon wants to control from the top but Bourne keeps moving.
Bourne manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Bourne gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Bourne moves into the clinch.
Nashigon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bourne just stands there and leans against the cage.
Bourne is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Nashigon pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Bourne is stalling here.
Bourne stops a takedown attempt from Nashigon.
Nashigon missing with knees to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nashigon tries to throw a body punch but Bourne avoids it by throwing Nashigon back against the cage.
Nashigon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Alex Bourne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johua Nashigon.

Bourne has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nashigon regains guard immediately.
Bourne controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nashigon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bourne manages to get himself to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bourne is on top in guard.

Bourne drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nashigon dives on top into guard.

Bourne is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Nashigon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Nashigon is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Bourne throws a knee to the head but misses.

Bourne manages to pull guard.
Nashigon wants to stand but Bourne has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Nashigon is sitting in close to Bourne's body. Bourne has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Nashigon is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Nashigon is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Bourne.
