Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matthieu Renaud!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gromowski is defended easily by Renaud.
Michael Gromowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gromowski tries to clinch there but Renaud circles away.
Renaud closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gromowski's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Renaud looking to sit in guard and control but Gromowski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Renaud is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Renaud has Gromowski pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gromowski throws a hook to the side of Renaud's head but Renaud sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Renaud throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Renaud misses with a jab, cross combination.
Renaud ducks under a wild hook from Gromowski.
Renaud looks to land a combination but Gromowski avoids it well.
Renaud doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A swing and a miss from Gromowski.
Gromowski misses with a low kick.
Sloppy strikes from Renaud. Those never looked like landing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gromowski.
Gromowski shoots for a takedown but Renaud saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Gromowski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gromowski shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gromowski showed some decent athleticism there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Renaud is trying to stand up here but Gromowski is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Renaud waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gromowski.
Gromowski fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Renaud manages to avoid it.

and Renaud counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Gromowski shoots in and bounces Renaud off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gromowski postures up and lands a big shot to Renaud's brow.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Gromowski here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Gromowski pushes a forearm under Renaud's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Renaud is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
