Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kristof Antheunis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kristof Antheunis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Jonson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonson shoots for a takedown but Antheunis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jonson fails with a takedown attempt.
Jonson shoots in but Antheunis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kristof Antheunis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Jonson.
Some wild striking there from Jonson.
Jonson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Antheunis's waist but Antheunis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jonson off to one side.
No luck for Jonson with that takedown attempt.
Jonson shoots in for a double leg but Antheunis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Antheunis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Antheunis wants to break free but Jonson has control.

Horrible takedown by Jonson or perhaps it was just good defense by Antheunis which made him look bad.
Jonson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jonson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Antheunis is fending him off so far but Jonson persists. Nope, Antheunis circles away and we're back to standing.

Jim Jonson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice combo by Antheunis! Oh, that's hurt him - Jonson falls to the canvas and Antheunis follows him into side control.

Jonson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Antheunis wants to stand but Jonson has his arm trapped.
Jonson is looking to reverse the position.

Jonson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Antheunis off and has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jonson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Antheunis swivels and escapes.
Antheunis thuds a left hand into Jonson's body.
No luck for Jonson with that takedown attempt.
Jonson closes the distance and clinches up with Antheunis, looking for a takedown. Jonson pushes Antheunis against the cage but Antheunis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Antheunis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Antheunis, as that shot connected.

Jonson is trying desperately to land a takedown but Antheunis is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Jonson.
Jonson is breathing heavily.
Jonson shoots in but Antheunis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jonson takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Jonson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Antheunis sprawls well initially but Jonson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Antheunis pushes Jonson off looking to stand but Jonson dives back in and keeps control.

Jonson is working for a kimura but Antheunis is defending it quite comfortably.

Jonson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Jonson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Antheunis can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Antheunis is trying to stand.

Jonson is working for a guillotine from mount but Antheunis frees his head quite easily.
Antheunis has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

Antheunis is in a bad position with Jonson working for a choke. Antheunis manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Jonson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jonson pushes a forearm under Antheunis's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Antheunis is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
