Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Barris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dingo Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn has chosen deftones-simple man as his entrance music. Dingo Penn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, John Barris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dingo Penn!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barris misses with a takedown attempt - Penn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Barris manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Penn on his heels. He'll look to pass Penn's guard now, I'm sure.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Penn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barris's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dingo Penn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Barris shoots in for a takedown but Penn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dingo Penn.

Penn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Barris napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Let's hope that Penn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Dingo Penn has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Barris or perhaps it was just good defense by Penn which made him look bad.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Barris is looking to improve his position but Penn isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dingo Penn dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Penn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Penn moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Barris manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Barris will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Penn tries to roll over but Barris keeps him under control.
Barris is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Penn reverses the position - he's now on top in Barris's guard.
Dingo Penn has got the better of the ground game so far.
Penn stays in close to Barris's body and controls the position.

Barris looking for a triangle here. Penn is fighting it but it looks tight! Barris pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Penn is tapping out - this one is all over!
