Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Boombatz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Jefferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Boombatz!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boombatz shoots in but no luck this time.

Boombatz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Jefferson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Boombatz's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Jefferson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jefferson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jefferson.
Boombatz would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jefferson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boombatz stands up over Jefferson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jefferson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boombatz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jefferson looking for a guillotine here but Boombatz defends easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Boombatz is looking to stand up but Jefferson won't let him.

Boombatz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jefferson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boombatz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jefferson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jefferson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jefferson stands and throws Boombatz's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Boombatz is trying to buck Jefferson off.

Jefferson tries for a kimura but Boombatz is defending well.
Jefferson is breathing heavily.
Boombatz is trying to improve his position.
Boombatz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jefferson off and has taken his back!
Jefferson takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Boombatz connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Jefferson to escape the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Michael Jefferson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jefferson swings for the body but Boombatz moves out of range.
Boombatz shoots in and drives through. Jefferson sprawls well.
Michael Jefferson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Boombatz counters with a single leg into guard. Jefferson didn't expect that.
Boombatz is looking to work some ground and pound but Jefferson has wrist control.

Jefferson is looking for a triangle but Boombatz pushes his legs off easily.

Jefferson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boombatz can't escape the position.

Jefferson has hold of Boombatz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Boombatz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Boombatz defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jefferson.
Boombatz swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Jefferson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Boombatz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Boombatz has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Jefferson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Boombatz is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Jefferson pulls down on the head and he's put Boombatz to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Michael Jefferson!
