PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sick Puppy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sick Puppy!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Puppy has closed the distance and engaged Hill in a clinch.
Puppy is looking to take this one to the mat.
A bit of stalling here from Hill.
Hill blocks an uppercut.
Puppy looking for a takedown.
Puppy looking to slow down the pace here.
Hill tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Puppy is looking for a takedown.
Bobby Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sick Puppy.
Hill misses with a hook from the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Hill lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Hill will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Puppy up against the cage.
Puppy blocking some punches.
A head punch on the inside from Puppy fails to land.
Puppy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Puppy is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hill is defending well.

Puppy has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hill regains guard immediately.
Hill has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Hill is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hill is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Puppy is aware though and is defending well.
Puppy trying to control but Hill is working from the bottom.
Puppy throws a big elbow that misses.
Puppy sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Puppy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Hill looking to control.
Puppy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Puppy is looking to work some ground and pound but Hill has wrist control.
Puppy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Puppy cracks Hill with a solid left hand.

Puppy advances position into side control!
Puppy in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Puppy working the ground and pound but Hill is defending the strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Puppy tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Hill parries the strikes from Puppy easily there. Puppy is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hill to escape.
Puppy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Puppy wants to control but Hill is keeping him busy.

Hill is trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hill on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sick Puppy dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hill avoids the body shot from Puppy.
Hill takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Sick Puppy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Puppy throws a hook but Hill blocks it.
Puppy takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hill takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Puppy shoots for a takedown but Hill saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hill looks to score with a jab to the body but Puppy is just out of range.

Puppy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hill.
Puppy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Puppy throws a hook to the side of Hill's head but Hill sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Hill lands with a good body shot.
Hill gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Puppy shoots in but Hill avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Puppy misses the target.
Hill moves out of range of the strikes.
Puppy just misses with a punch to the body.
A big left from Puppy misses.
Puppy getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Puppy.
Bobby Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sick Puppy.

Hill misses with an uppercut. Puppy saw that one coming.
Puppy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hills jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hill tests Puppy's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Puppy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hill takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hill moves out of range as Puppy strikes.
Puppy lands with an uppercut that bounces Hill off the cage and back into range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Puppy throws an overhand right that lands on Hill's shoulder, as Hill tries to avoid the shot.

Puppy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hill.
Hill keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Puppy.
Puppy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hill as he jumps to the side.
Puppy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hill tries to avoid it but Puppy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hill to the ground. Hill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Puppy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Puppy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hill wants to control but Puppy is having none of it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sick Puppy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Hill keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Puppy needs to keep his hands up - Hill had a free shot at his head there.

Hill throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Puppy.

Puppy is rocked!
Hill just misses with a punch to the body.

Puppy misses with a two punch combination.
Puppy throws a jab but it's blocked by Hill.
Hill attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Hill misses with a hook. Puppy ducked under it nicely.
A slow jab from Puppy misses its intended target.
Puppy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hill at a distance.
Puppy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hill.

Hill ducks under a wild hook from Puppy.
Hill throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Puppy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hill drops Puppy with a beautiful combination! Puppy stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hill is looking for the KO!
Puppy is still on wobbly legs! Can Hill finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Puppy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hill changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Puppy misses with an uppercut.
Hill throws a head kick but Puppy moves out of range.
Puppy seems to have recovered his senses.
Puppy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Bobby Hill has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hill takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Puppy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hill lands a big head kick that sends Puppy tumbling to the mat! Hill takes a step backwards and waves Puppy back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Hill controls Puppy momentarily but Puppy frees himself.

Bobby Hill showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Puppy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
