Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vito Naga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lasse Sievinen!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Naga shoots in looking for a takedown. Sievinen tries to sprawl out of it but Naga keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sievinen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sievinen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Sievinen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Naga sprawls well initially but Sievinen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Naga controlling the position well.
Naga gets full guard.
Sievinen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Naga works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sievinen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Naga. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Naga is trying to keep Sievinen in close.
Sievinen looking to sit in guard and control but Naga gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Naga wants to control from the top but Sievinen keeps moving.

Naga passes easily into side control. Nice work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sievinen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sloppy strikes there by Naga.
Naga sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sievinen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Sievinen wants to get back to his feet.
Sievinen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sievinen is trying to control Naga's posture but Naga avoids it.
Naga working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Naga wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sievinen keeps working.
Sievinen takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Sievinen is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Sievinen takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Naga has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Sievinen is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Naga fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Sievinen is still in real trouble! Can Naga finish him?
Sievinen looks gassed!

Naga has control of Sievinen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sievinen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Naga drops a big elbow. That's hurt Sievinen! More shots from Naga and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vito Naga!
