PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cassio Corrnachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cassio Corrnachi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corrnachi avoids the head kick by Harrison.
Harrison closes the distance looking to clinch

and Corrnachi moves into the clinch.
Harrison tries to break the clinch but Corrnachi is controlling the position.
Harrison goes for a takedown in the clinch but Corrnachi prevents it.

Corrnachi jumps guard and drags Harrison to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Harrison got a little sloppy there for a moment and Corrnachi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Harrison has managed to get both his arms back between Corrnachi's legs - danger averted.

Harrison avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Harrison trying to control the position from guard on top but Corrnachi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harrison throws a big elbow that misses.
Corrnachi keeping moving, preventing Harrison from controlling successfully.
Harrison is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ben Harrison.
Harrison throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Corrnachi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Harrison is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Corrnachi counters by clinching up.
Harrison is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Corrnachi pulls him back up using the underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harrison tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Corrnachi smiles and moves away.
Cassio Corrnachi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Harrison.

Corrnachi instigates a clinch.
Harrison fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Corrnachi keeps control of Harrison as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Corrnachi pulls guard successfully.
Corrnachi trying to keep a closed guard but Harrison is proving a slippery customer.

Harrison postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Corrnachi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Harrison, into his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Corrnachiis looking to pass into half guard but Harrison pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Harrison is in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harrison tries to stand but Corrnachi is controlling from the bottom.
Harrison makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Corrnachi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harrison on the ground.
Harrison trying to control but Corrnachi is working from the bottom.
Harrison wants to pass the guard but Corrnachi is keeping the position.
Corrnachi thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Corrnachi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Corrnachi keeping moving, preventing Harrison from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ben Harrison was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Harrison changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Corrnachi tries to avoid it but Harrison manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Corrnachi to the ground. Corrnachi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Harrison throws a sloppy head kick
enabling Corrnachi to counter with a crisp jab.
Harrison keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Corrnachi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Corrnachi shoots for a double leg takedown but Harrison sprawls well. He's pushed Corrnachi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Corrnachi is breathing heavily.
Corrnachi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harrison defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ben Harrison will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Harrison shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Harrison is defended easily by Corrnachi.
Corrnachi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Harrison but Harrison pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Corrnachi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harrison's waist but Harrison gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corrnachi off to one side.
Corrnachi takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Corrnachi blocks a head kick by Harrison.
Corrnachi stuffs the takedown.
Cassio Corrnachi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Harrison.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Harrison.
Corrnachi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Harrison sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Corrnachi shoots in but Harrison avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Harrison misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Harrison throws a push kick but Corrnachi slaps the foot to one side.
Harrison wants to clinch.
Harrison tries to clinch but Corrnachi moves away

and Corrnachi moves into the clinch.

Corrnachi tightens his grip and picks Harrison up, before dumping him to the ground. Harrison manages to land in guard.

Harrison has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Corrnachi should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Harrison has tightened it up now! Corrnachi should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ben Harrison!
