Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Garrett Dresen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Mason will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Garrett Dresen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Mason!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dresen tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mason looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mason gets tackled into the cage by Dresen. Dresen maintains the clinch.
Dresen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mason is looking to break free of the clinch but Dresen has double underhooks.

Mason's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mason fails with a takedown attempt.

Mason gets a clinch.
Dresen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mason's efforts to push away.

Dresen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jacob Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dresen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mason has a takedown stuffed.

Dresen gets tackled into the cage by Mason. Mason maintains the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mason wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dresen has him pressed against the cage.
Mason is trying to drag Dresen to the mat but Dresen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Garrett Dresen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Mason.
Dresen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mason prevents it.

Mason's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Mason shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dresen's guard.
Mason looks gassed!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Dresen manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Dresen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mason is fending him off so far but Dresen persists. Nope, Mason circles away and we're back to standing.

Dresen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Dresen wants to pass the guard but Mason is keeping the position.
Dresen throws a big right hand that misses.

Dresen stands up from Mason's guard - Dresen perhaps looking for a knockout.

Dresen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mason to the mat! Mason manages to get full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mason being controlled here, momentarily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Garrett Dresen wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Mason shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dresen pinned against the cage. Dresen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Some wild striking there from Mason.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dresen throws a shot from downtown. Mason moves away and avoids it.
Mason tries to bum rush Dresen with a series of wild strikes but Dresen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mason has managed to clinch.
Mason stops a takedown attempt from Dresen.
Dresen jumps guard but Mason stands there with Dresen around his waist. Dresen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mason fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dresen taking a breather.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mason wants a takedown.

Dresen breaks the clinch.
Mason throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garrett Dresen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Dresen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mason's guard.
Dresen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dresen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dresen looking to sit in guard and control but Mason gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dresen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Dresen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mason manages to get himself to full guard.
Dresen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mason is keeping the position for now.
Mason is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mason keeping moving, preventing Dresen from controlling successfully.

Garrett Dresen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Dresen fails to land the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mason.
Dresen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mason swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mason feints and as Dresen raises his hands in defense, Mason changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dresen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mason trying to control but Dresen is working from the bottom.
Mason must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mason postures up in Dresen's guard and throws a big left but Dresen blocks it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dresen is on top in guard.

Dresen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A clash of legs there as Dresen blocks the low kick.
Dresen dodges the punch combination from Mason.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mason tries to sprawl but Dresen drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dresen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Mason keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Dresen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Dresen seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Mason is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Garrett Dresen!
