PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between tj Wash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Alex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wash's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, you dont know. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, tj Wash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Orlando Alex!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wash fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Alex should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Wash looks for a takedown but Alex sprawls well.

Alex shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alex showed some decent athleticism there.
Alex stalling away here and it's allowed Wash to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Wash utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wash wants to sweep here but Alex controlling him for the moment.

Wash wants to stand and escape but Alex is having none of it.

Alex drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wash dives on top into guard.

Wash scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Wash keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Wash shoots in looking for a takedown but Alex manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wash's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for tj Wash. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alex tries to clinch but Wash moves out of range.

Wash closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wash wants to take the fight to the mat but Alex manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Alex is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wash gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wash looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Alex jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wash walks away with a smile on his face. Alex gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wash shoots for a takedown but Alex saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Wash. No joy for Alex on that attempt.

Wash jumps guard but Alex stands there with Wash around his waist. Wash gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wash changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Alex fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Alex looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wash is fending him off so far but Alex persists. Nope, Wash circles away and we're back to standing.

Alex tries to score with a low kick but Wash moves his leg out of the way.
Wash shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alex defends it nicely.
Wash fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wash is breathing heavily.

Alex is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wash's half guard.
Alex lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wash is looking to control Alex's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wash avoid being mounted?

Alex stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alex wants it to stay on the feet.
Wash wants to clinch.

Wash rushes Alex and presses him up against the cage.

Alex breaks the clinch.
Alex misses with a body kick.
Alex stuffs the takedown attempt from Wash. Wash gets slowly back to his feet.
Wash shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alex pinned against the cage. Alex gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Alex throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wash dives in and grabs Alex's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alex pushes down on Wash's head and hops out.
Wash misses with a jab, cross combination.
tj Wash is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wash tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alex paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Alex misses with a body kick.
Wash fails with an attempt to clinch.

Wash throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alex's waist but Alex gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wash off to one side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Alex looks to land a left hand but Wash moved out of range nicely.

Wash shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alex pinned against the cage. Alex gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Alex misses with a takedown attempt - Wash sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Alex tries to clinch there but Wash circles away.
Wash shoots in for a takedown but Alex shows good takedown defense.

Alex can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wash is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alex scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Wash?
Wash tries to hold on but Alex postures up.
Wash throwing hammer fists to the chest of Alex. What's that going to do exactly?

Alex takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Alex manages to capitalize on a mistake by Wash to take his back!
Wash manages to reverse the position and now he's in Alex's guard. Nice work there by Wash.

Alex looking for a guillotine here but Wash defends easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alex is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Orlando Alex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Wash's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Alex throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wash tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alex is in Wash's guard.
Alex working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Wash's head.
Alex with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Alex passes into half guard.
Wash tries to get to full guard but Alex has control of the leg.

Alex gets to his feet - Wash follows without any prompting.

Wash closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alex to the mat! Alex manages to get full guard.
Wash will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alex takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wash wants to stand up but Alex is controlling the position.

Wash seems to be working for a kimura but Alex defends the submission attempt.

Wash is looking to stand up but Alex won't let him.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Alex lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wash!

Wash tries to hold on but Alex pushes him away.

Alex fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Wash is squirming around, avoiding Alex's attempts to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alex jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Wash is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Wash and Alex has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
tj Wash has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Orlando Alex is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Orlando Alex comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Alex has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
