PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Pedofiili (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taavi Liisteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liisteri has chosen Solid Base - I like it as his entrance music. Taavi Liisteri told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedofiili lands a big shot that drops Liisteri! Can he finish him?

Pedofiili wants to stand and escape but instead Liisteri has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Liisteri shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Liisteri showed some decent athleticism there.

Liisteri is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pedofiili doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Liisteri.

Liisteri is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Liisteri uses his free foot to push down on Pedofiili's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pedofiili.

Liisteri looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Pedofiili tries to lock up and control but Liisteri gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Liisteri is working for a guillotine from mount but Pedofiili frees his head quite easily.

Liisteri is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pedofiili can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Pedofiili lands a left and a right that sends Liisteri crashing to the canvas! Pedofiili dives into mount looking to finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pedofiili has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Liisteri's face.
Pedofiili breaks from Liisteri's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Liisteri bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pedofiili bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Liisteri's guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A left and a right from Pedofiili both land. Nice combination.
Pedofiili tries to work over Liisteri's front leg with a kick but Liisteri checks it.

Pedofiili is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Liisteri tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pedofiili just stands there and leans against the cage.

Pedofiili tries to break the clinch but Liisteri is controlling the position.

Pedofiili breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pedofiili keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Pedofiili connects with a nice cross there... Liisteri is looking wobbly and Pedofiili recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Liisteri to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Pedofiili jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
