Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Owen Wash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Senca Caliot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Owen Wash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Senca Caliot!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caliot tries a head kick but it misses.
Caliot pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Caliot throws a head kick that misses.
Wash is trying hard to land a takedown here. Caliot sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Wash avoids the head kick by Caliot.

Wash closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Caliot to the mat! Caliot manages to get full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Caliot is looking to stand back up but Wash counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Caliot.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wash wants to work for an arm triangle but Caliot is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Wash landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Wash is controlling the pace.

Wash has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Wash seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Caliot for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Owen Wash wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Caliot wants to stand up but Wash is controlling him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wash slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Wash postures up in Caliot's guard and throws a big left but Caliot blocks it.
Caliot is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wash lands a couple of digs.

Wash gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Caliot gets caught flat footed, as Wash shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Caliot wants to get back to his feet but Wash is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Caliot looks gassed!
Wash is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Owen Wash.

Wash feints and as Caliot raises his hands in defense, Wash changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wash gets to his feet - Caliot follows without any prompting.

Caliot is trying to force a seperation but Wash has the dominant position.
Caliot wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Wash breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Caliot throws a sloppy head kick and Wash moves out of range easily.

Wash looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Wash clinches with his opponent.
Wash manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Wash fails to pull guard.
Wash tries to break free but Caliot pushes him back against the cage.
Wash is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Wash jumps guard but Caliot stands there with Wash around his waist. Wash gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Caliot avoids a wild elbow strike from Wash.
Caliot tries to break the clinch but Wash is controlling the position.
Wash creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Wash tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Caliot just stands there and leans against the cage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wash creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Wash is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Caliot gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Wash kicks Caliot off and gets to his feet.
Caliot moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
A head kick misses from Caliot.

Wash forces Caliot back against the cage and clinches.

Wash turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wash manages to end up in side control.
Wash staying calm.
Caliot misses with a strike from the bottom.
Senca Caliot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wash scoring with punches and elbows.

Wash is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Caliot knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Caliot is pushing Wash's head away, looking to escape. Wash manages to hold on to the position though.

Caliot is not content to let Wash control the position.
Wash moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Owen Wash wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Wash closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Caliot's guard.
Caliot takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wash controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Wash with a nice head shot there.
Caliot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wash. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wash passes Caliot's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Wash is taking a breather. Caliot says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Caliot wants to stand back up but Wash manages to pass into side control.
Owen Wash is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Well Wash has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
