The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Damme feints and then cracks Munakata's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Munakata down.
Van Damme tries to clinch but Munakata is having none of it.
Van Damme throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Munakata.
It looks like Seishiro Munakata has been cut.
A combination from Munakata does no damage.
Van Damme scores with a takedown into Munakata's guard.
Van Damme really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Van Damme tries to stand but Munakata is controlling from the bottom.
Van Damme wants to control from the top but Munakata keeps moving.
Munakata is controlling Van Damme's posture.
Van Damme looking to sit in guard and control but Munakata gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Van Damme knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Munakata on the ground.

Van Damme is breathing heavily.

Munakata not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Munakata landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
