Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Sterling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Tabs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tabs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sterling cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sterling fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tabs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sterling connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tabs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sterling counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Joseph Sterling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Tabs.

Sterling is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Tabs looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Tabs is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sterling has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tabs is working away from the top position though.
Tabs prevents Sterling from improving his position.

Tabs seems to be working for a kimura but Sterling defends the submission attempt.
Sterling knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tabs on the ground.

Tabs in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Sterling tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Tabs!
