Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Picker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper has chosen star trek theme as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Picker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sheldon Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Picker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cooper pinned against the cage. Cooper gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Picker keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Cooper. No joy for Picker on that attempt.

Picker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cooper tries to avoid it but Picker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cooper to the ground. Cooper escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Picker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Picker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cooper sees it coming and defends easily.

Picker throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Cooper to regain full guard.

Cooper has his foot on Picker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Picker works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cooper is trying to get back to his feet but Picker has full control of the position and if anything, Cooper has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Picker is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Cooper defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Cooper tries to escape but Picker has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cooper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Picker's guard.

Cooper decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Cooper tries to clinch up but Picker circles away and keeps his distance.

Cooper closes the distance and clinches up with Picker, looking for a takedown. Cooper pushes Picker against the cage but Picker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cooper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Cooper gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Picker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cooper utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Picker looking to sit in guard and control but Cooper gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cooper wants to control from the top but Picker keeps moving.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sheldon Cooper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Picker is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Cooper still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Cooper has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
