Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikio Okita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dingle Berrian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Berrian has chosen Run This Town as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikio Okita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dingle Berrian!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berrian is looking to score with low kicks.
Okita cracks a nice hook into Berrian's ribs.
Okita blocks a head kick by Berrian.
Berrian throws a leg kick but Okita sees it coming and moves out of range.
Berrian throws a right and a left that both miss.
Okita misses the jab.
Berrian looks to land a body kick but Okita moved away.

Okita fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Berrian to the ground. Okita is now in Berrian's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Okita drops back looking for a leg! Berrian is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Berrian manages to kick Okita off! Okita jumps back into Berrian's guard.
Okita pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Berrian is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Berrian keeping moving, preventing Okita from controlling successfully.
Okita forces his way into half guard.
Berrian is refusing to be controlled, as Okita sits in half guard.
Okita thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Berrian's head.

Berrian really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Okita. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Okita looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Okita wants to work for an arm triangle but Berrian is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Berrian moves into full guard.

Okita drops back looking for a leg! Berrian is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Berrian manages to kick Okita off! Okita jumps back into Berrian's guard.

Okita wants to control from the top but Berrian keeps moving.

Okita is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mikio Okita just wasn't active enough.
Okita moves away from the strike by Berrian.
Okita avoids the head kick by Berrian.
Okita throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dingle Berrian is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Okita shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Berrian sprawls well. Berrian wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Okita gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Berrian throws a head kick but Okita moves out of range.
Berrian is looking to land body kicks.
Berrian tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Okita was well out of range. Poor timing from Berrian.
Okita scores with a three punch combo!
Berrian throws a poor cross that misses
and Okita counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Berrian lands with a slapping head kick.
Berrian throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Okita sizes up Berrian with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Berrian scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Berrian ducks under a wild hook from Okita.
Berrian looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Berrian throws a wild body kick that Okita sees coming a mile off.
Okita bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Berrian throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Berrian steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Okita.

Okita checks a leg kick.
Berrian takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Okita lands a nice looking body shot.
Okita avoids the head kick by Berrian.
Berrian tries a head kick but it misses.
Good standup being displayed there by Okita as he connects with a hook.
Okita thows a body shot but no joy.
Okita ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Berrian moves away.
Okita takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Okita drives through with a takedown into guard.
Okita tries to free his leg and advance position but Berrian is retaining full guard.
Okita sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Berrian's guard.
Berrian tries to get to full guard but Okita has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Okita stalling.
Berrian is refusing to be controlled, as Okita sits in half guard.
Okita is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Okita controlling the position easily from mount.
Okita dominating with strikes here.

Berrian is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Okita takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Okita can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Berrian is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Okita is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Berrian has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Berrian tries to hold on but Okita pushes him away.
Okita moves to the back position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Okita is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Berrian is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mikio Okita!
A very excited looking Mikio Okita made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
