Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Rolla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenshin Himura!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rolla fails to land the takedown.

Rolla rushes Himura and presses him up against the cage.

Rolla's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rolla defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Himura.
Rolla swats away the attempt to clinch by Himura.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rolla tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Himura comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Himura tries for a takedown but Rolla manages to get underhooks.
Himura looks gassed!

Rolla pulls guard.

Rolla is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Rolla tries to score a body lock takedown but Himura shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Rolla breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rolla lands a jab.
Rolla looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Rolla. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Himura is defended easily by Rolla.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rolla enables Himura to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rolla manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rolla seems keen to control Himura's posture.
Rolla wants to sweep here but Himura controlling him for the moment.

Rolla is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Himura defends well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rolla is on top in guard.
Rolla throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Rolla wanted to stand there but Himura had control of the position.

Rolla has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mike Rolla just wasn't active enough.
Rolla dives in and grabs Himura's left leg, looking for a takedown. Himura pushes down on Rolla's head and hops out.
Rolla tries a head kick but it misses.
Himura misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rolla has a takedown stuffed.
Himura tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Rolla clinches with his opponent.
Come on Rolla - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Rolla drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Himura tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Rolla breaks from the clinch.

Rolla shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Himura napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rolla is looking to take a break and control but Himura is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rolla misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Himura misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Himura avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Rolla darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rolla trying to control the action but Himura is working from the bottom.
Rolla works his foot free and advances to mount.
Himura is breathing heavily.
Himura tries to lock up and control but Rolla gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Himura is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Rolla is staying active.

Rolla looking for a guillotine from mount but Himura is having none of it.
Rolla tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Rolla looking to control but Himura is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Rolla working the ground and pound effectively.

Rolla lands with some strikes.

Rolla jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Himura manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Rolla trying to control the position but Himura is working away.
Rolla throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Rolla slows the pace down.

Rolla decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Rolla shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Himura as he avoids it easily.

Himura gets tackled into the cage by Rolla. Rolla maintains the clinch.
Rolla jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Himura walks away with a smile on his face. Rolla gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rolla throws a one two combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rolla changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Himura tries to avoid it but Rolla manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Himura to the ground. Himura escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Rolla. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rolla fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Himura avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Rolla dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Rolla gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Himura is trying to push Rolla away but Rolla has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Rolla lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Himura or not.

Rolla pulls guard.
Rolla trying to keep a closed guard but Himura is proving a slippery customer.

Himura takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We're going to have a standup here because Mike Rolla wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Rolla counters with a thumping low kick.

Rolla closes the distance and clinches.
Himura jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rolla walks away with a smile on his face. Himura gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rolla shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Himura defends it nicely.
Rolla throws a sloppy head kick and Himura moves out of range easily.
Rolla misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Himura closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rolla counters with a three punch combo that has Himura backing up. Himura nods at Rolla to acknowledge the strikes.
Rolla feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Himura's calf.
Rolla is looking to land body kicks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rolla shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rolla was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Rolla is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Himura can do to turn this around?
Rolla wants to control the action but instead Himura gets a body lock and reverses into Rolla's guard! Nice work!

Rolla pushes Himura off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Rolla shoots in but no luck this time.

Himura has had enough of the clinch but Rolla keeps him there for the moment.
Rolla is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Himura to keep the fight standing.

Himura throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Himura leaves Rolla with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kenshin Himura has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mike Rolla is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rolla lands a nice looking body shot.
