PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Brock Lesnar has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brock Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Felix Silva!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Silva performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lesnar is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lesnar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lesnar could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lesnar has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lesnar wants to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lesnar tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.

Silva darts in and clinches Lesnar up against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Lesnar just misses with a elbow thrown towards Silva's brow.

Lesnar postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.

Silva scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lesnar throws a body kick that misses

and Silva counters by clinching up.
Silva is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Silva gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lesnar is in trouble now - Silva has advanced to mount!

Silva is working for a guillotine from mount but Lesnar frees his head quite easily.

Silva is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lesnar to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lesnar shrugs it off.

Lesnar is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Lesnar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Silva is in the full mount, landing strikes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Lesnar is trying to drag Silva to the mat but Silva just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Silva has picked Lesnar up - he's going for a ride! Silva dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Lesnar avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Silva.
Silva throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Silva passes the guard and advances to mount!

Silva stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lesnar gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Silva throws a big right hand that misses.
Silva controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lesnar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Felix Silva wasn't active enough on the ground.

Silva shoots in and bounces Lesnar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Silva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felix Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Let's hope that Silva has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Silva jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lesnar manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Lesnar is trying to escape the position but Silva is controlling the position.
Silva advances to mount.

Silva is working for a guillotine from mount but Lesnar frees his head quite easily.

Silva looking to secure an arm triangle but Lesnar defends it well.

Silva scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Silva lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Silva thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Silva postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lesnar looks a forlorn figure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Felix Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
