Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gancho Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santino Marconi!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos shoots for a takedown but Marconi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Marconi shoots in looking for a takedown but Santos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marconi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Santos doesn't manage to clinch there - Marconi circles away.
Marconi has his takedown stuffed
and Santos counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Santos.
Santos won't allow Marconi to sweep him here.
Marconi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Santos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marconi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Santos has managed to get both his arms back between Marconi's legs - danger averted.

Santos leaves Marconi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gancho Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santino Marconi.
Santos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Santos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Marconi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Marconi tries to free his leg and advance position but Santos is retaining full guard.
Marconi is pushing down on Santos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Santos is fighting to maintain full guard but Marconi has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Santos is desperately trying to improve his position but Marconi has a good base and remains in mount.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Marconi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Santos moves in looking to clinch but Marconi pushes him off.

Marconi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Santos as he avoids it easily.

Santos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marconi was covering up waiting for the punch and Santos finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Marconi wants to improve his position but Santos is controlling well.

Santos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Santos remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
