Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Putin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Putin seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Putin decides to stand back up.
Marcos tries to clinch but Putin moves out of range.
Putin scores with a one two! Marcos had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Putin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Putin trying to control the position from guard on top but Marcos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marcos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Marcos tries to get out of the position.
Marcos wants to stand but Putin is controlling the position.
Putin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Putin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Marcos seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Marcos fails with the takedown
and Putin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Marcos thinking.
Marcos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Putin counters with a left and a right that stings Marcos.
Marcos pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Marcos drives through with a takedown into guard.
Marcos has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Marcos is breathing heavily.

Putin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Marcos gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Putin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Marcos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Putin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sao Marcos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Putin moves nicely into side control.
Putin lands a decent elbow from side control.

Putin stands up and beckons Marcos to his feet.
Putin lands a two punch combo.

Putin throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Marcos colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Putin as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Marcos is left battered and dazed whilst Putin and his camp cheer!
