Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparry McSubberton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lal Dama!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McSubberton shoots in for a takedown but Dama shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dama drives through with a takedown into McSubberton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Dama must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McSubberton looking for a sweep. Not yet McSubberton, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McSubberton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
McSubberton is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dama decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McSubberton, up you get!
Dama swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by McSubberton.

McSubberton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dama to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dama forces his way into half guard.
McSubberton works his way to full guard. Good work.
Dama is looking to stand up but McSubberton won't let him.

Dama trying to control but McSubberton is working from the bottom.

McSubberton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McSubberton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dama trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McSubberton is trying to keep Dama in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McSubberton tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dama wants to control from the top but McSubberton keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

McSubberton working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Dama has passed into half guard!

Dama is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McSubberton is just riding it out for now. Dama eventually gives up the hold.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McSubberton trying to get back to full guard but Dama takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
McSubberton tries to reverse the position but Dama maintains control.
McSubberton manages to regain half guard. Good work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dama stands up from half guard.

Dama has McSubberton up against the cage in a clinch.
McSubberton tries to pull guard but Dama holds him up against the cage and eventually McSubberton drops back down to his feet.
McSubberton tries to pull guard but Dama won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sparry McSubberton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McSubberton is trying to pull guard but Dama turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
McSubberton fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Dama is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. McSubberton can't fight it off and eventually Dama manages to take the fight to the floor. McSubberton looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
McSubberton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Dama blocking the ground and pound attempt from McSubberton.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McSubberton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dama keeps working.
Dama makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dama.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dama trying to control the position here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McSubberton is in close to Dama's body, working some short punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lal Dama will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Lal Dama's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

McSubberton tries to sprawl but Dama drives through with a takedown into half guard.
McSubberton gets full guard.
McSubberton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dama!
McSubberton working away from the top, dropping strikes.
McSubberton lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dama hang on?


The cut above Lal Dama's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lal Dama's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Sparry McSubberton!
Sparry McSubberton spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
