The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smoot takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Pete Butcher has been cut.
Smoot lands a glancing blow to the side of Butcher's head.
A lazy body kick from Smoot
enabling Butcher to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice uppercut there from Smoot.
Butcher is rocked!
Butcher is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smoot.
Butcher is still on wobbly legs! Can Smoot finish him?
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Smoot moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Butcher! Smoot continues to tee off on Butcher, landing with a left and a right! Smoot connects with a right hand that leaves Butcher sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Smoot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Fred Smoot!
Fred Smoot opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
