PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alto Koning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolas De Ertu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alto Koning had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alto Koning!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nicolas De Ertu!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koning throws a right and a left that De Ertu avoids nicely.
Koning misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Koning swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
De Ertu closes the distance looking to clinch
and Koning counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Koning swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

De Ertu takes the fight into the clinch.

De Ertu tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Koning just stands there and leans against the cage.
De Ertu changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Koning fights it off and pushes away nicely.
De Ertu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Koning's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Koning rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but De Ertu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Koning fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt De Ertu.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alto Koning will probably get the nod.

De Ertu has hold of Koning's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Koning manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nicolas De Ertu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think De Ertu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Nicolas De Ertu tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
