Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Meeoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meeoff has chosen bawitaba as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jack Meeoff!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meeoff misses with a few strikes there.
Woods lunges at Meeoff with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Meeoff's hand.
Woods tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Meeoff paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Meeoff takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Meeoff scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Woods wants to sweep here but Meeoff controlling him for the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jack Meeoff wasn't active enough on the ground.
Meeoff throws a combination that misses
and Woods counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Meeoff misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Woods shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Meeoff as he avoids it easily.
Meeoff shoots for a double leg takedown but Woods sprawls well. He's pushed Meeoff's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No luck for Meeoff with that takedown attempt.
Woods's jab looks to have found its range, popping Meeoff under the eye.
Meeoff throws a right and a left that both miss.
Meeoff pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Woods back to the cage. Meeoff follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Meeoff shoots in for a takedown but Woods shows good takedown defense.

Meeoff is trying to pull guard but Woods turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Woods manages to break the clinch.
Meeoff looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Meeoff shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Meeoff feints and as Woods raises his hands in defense, Meeoff changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Meeoff is pushing down on Woods's leg trying to pass to half guard. Woods is fighting to maintain full guard but Meeoff has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Woods wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Meeoff is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Woods looking to hit a scissor sweep but Meeoff is one step ahead there.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that James Woods will probably get the nod.

Meeoff shoots in looking for a takedown but Woods manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Meeoff's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Meeoff tries to break free but Woods pushes him back against the cage.

Woods is trying to trip Meeoff. He has hold of a leg but Meeoff is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Woods persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Woods feints a jab promting Meeoff to slip. Woods then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Meeoff slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Meeoff tries to close the distance and clinch up but Woods swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Woods lands a glancing blow to the side of Meeoff's head.
Meeoff uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Woods.
Meeoff throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Woods gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Woods lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Woods swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Meeoff blocking some punches.

Woods shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Meeoff pinned against the cage. Meeoff gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Meeoff misses with a takedown attempt - Woods sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Woods closes the distance and clinches.

Woods breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

James Woods is winning the standup battle so far.
Woods dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Meeoff. That did some damage!

Meeoff using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Woods has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Woods digs a right hand into Meeoff's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Meeoff's gas tank.

Woods turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
