The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Segura cracks Takashii with a right hand to the side of the head.

It looks like Kojii Takashii has been cut.
Takashii shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Segura gets caught flat footed, as Takashii shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Takashii really is a fat lump.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Takashii trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Takashii won't allow Segura to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Segura preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Takashii drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Takashii jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Segura looking to hit a scissor sweep but Takashii is one step ahead there.

Takashii drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Segura dives on top into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Segura postures up in Takashii's guard and throws a big left but Takashii blocks it.

Takashii looking to hit a scissor sweep but Segura is one step ahead there.
Segura must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Segura accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Segura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takashii swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Takashii has his foot on Segura's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Segura works his way back into a safe position though.

Takashii is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Segura postures up in Takashii's guard and throws a big left but Takashii blocks it.

Takashii is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Takashii is looking to sinch up a triangle. Segura throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Takashii's body to avoid the submission. Takashii has instead reached around Segura's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Takashii arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
