The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir dives in and grabs Do's left leg, looking for a takedown. Do pushes down on Mir's head and hops out.
Do throws a leg kick that misses.

Do shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mir napping and manages to drive through into side control!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The strikes coming from Do are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Do creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mir sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Mir looking for a sweep but Do has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Do landing strikes from the mount.

It looks like Frank Mir has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Do postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mir looks a forlorn figure.

That has opened up Frank Mir's cut even more.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Frank Mir's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

After the fight, Jonny Do was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
