Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Hanssen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Sparrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis Hanssen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Hanssen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Sparrow!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparrow is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sparrow scores with a jab to the jaw.
Sparrow lands a head shot.
Hanssen moves out of range of the body kick.
Jack Sparrow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sparrow fails to land with a series of punches.
Hanssen throws out a leg kick but Sparrow moves out of range and Hanssen only half commits.
Hanssen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sparrow is fending him off so far but Hanssen persists. Nope, Sparrow circles away and we're back to standing.
Sparrow throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hanssen.
Hanssen slips a jab and a cross from Sparrow.
Hanssen tries to clinch but Sparrow moves out of range.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Sparrow - that will leave a mark!
Sparrow connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hanssen's hands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sparrow drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sparrow's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Hanssen working a defensive guard but Sparrow passes into half guard.
Sparrow is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hanssen!

Hanssen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Hanssen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sparrow avoids it really well and circles away.
Sparrow misses with a two punch combination.
Sparrow lands a nice looking body kick.
Hanssen wants to clinch up but Sparrow keeps it at a distance.
Sparrow pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hanssen back to the cage. Sparrow follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hanssen fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hanssen is looking to take this one to the mat.

Hanssen manages to pull guard.
Sparrow controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Jack Sparrow has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sparrow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hanssen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hanssen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sparrow but Sparrow pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sparrow cracks Hanssen with a nice body shot.

A left and a right from Sparrow both land. Nice combination.
Sparrow throws a series of punches but Hanssen avoids them all with ease.
Hanssen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hanssen has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sparrow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hanssen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sparrow scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Dennis Hanssen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sparrow will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sparrow shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hanssen's guard.

and Sparrow counters with a three punch combo that has Hanssen backing up. Hanssen nods at Sparrow to acknowledge the strikes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sparrow displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hanssen.

Hanssen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sparrow.
Sparrow is pressed up against the cage. Hanssen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sparrow down to the mat. Sparrow avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Sparrow was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Hanssen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jack Sparrow seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Sparrow moves into range and clinches up with Hanssen.
Hanssen is trying to push Sparrow away but Sparrow has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sparrow lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hanssen backwards.
Sparrow works on Hanssen's body with a couple of short punches.
Sparrow is pressed up against the cage. Hanssen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sparrow down to the mat. Sparrow avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Sparrow darts in and clinches Hanssen up against the cage.

Sparrow looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Sparrow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
