Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Kenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kelly kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is R Kelly - Real talk. Rob Kelly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patrick Kenzie!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenzie jabs Kelly to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A nice combination there by Kelly.


It looks like Patrick Kenzie has been cut.
Kelly misses with an uppercut. Kenzie saw that one coming.
Kenzie staying out of range there.
Kelly changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kenzie tries to avoid it but Kelly manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kenzie to the ground. Kenzie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kelly uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kenzie.
Kelly throws a series of punches but Kenzie moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rob Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Kenzie counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Kenzie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kelly's hands.

Kenzie lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kenzie misses with a series of wild punches.
Kenzie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kelly takes one on the chin but seems OK.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rob Kelly.
Well Kenzie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
