Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khal Drogo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia comes to the ring accompanied by Stranglehold-Ted Nugent. David Maia has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drogo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Maia. That did some damage!

Maia feints and as Drogo raises his hands in defense, Maia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Drogo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Maia is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Drogo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Maia's back instead.
Maia manages to reverse the position and now he's in Drogo's guard. Nice work there by Maia.

Maia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Drogo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Drogo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Drogo!

Drogo decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Good leg kick by Drogo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Maia shoots and misses

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters circle momentarily. Drogo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Drogo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
