Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between The Gypsy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Coalman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Coalman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The Gypsy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Coalman!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gypsy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Coalman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Coalman.
Gypsy tries to pull guard but Coalman forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Coalman gets underhooks to prevent Gypsy's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Gypsy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Coalman stops a takedown attempt from Gypsy.

Coalman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No joy there for Coalman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gypsy misses with a takedown
and Gypsy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gypsy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gypsy shoots and misses
and Coalman counters with a leg kick.
Gypsy tries for a takedown but Coalman circles away easily
and Coalman counters with a series of strikes. Gypsy will be more careful next time no doubt.

Coalman darts in and clinches Gypsy up against the cage.
Gypsy fails to pull guard.

Coalman dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Gypsy drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Coalman gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Coalman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gypsy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Coalman sprawls well initially but Gypsy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Coalman blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gypsy.
Coalman wants to get back to his feet.
Coalman looks gassed!

Coalman is defending against the submission attempts here by Gypsy.

Gypsy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gypsy seems to be looking for submissions.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gypsy trying to control from half guard but Coalman is working away.
Gypsy works his foot free and advances to mount.

Gypsy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Coalman to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Coalman shrugs it off.
Gypsy is landing with some decent strikes but Coalman is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Gypsy is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Coalman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Gypsy looking to control but Coalman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Gypsy lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Coalman hang on?

Gypsy goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Coalman turns into him and now he's in Gypsy's guard.
Gypsy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Coalman tries to stand but Gypsy is controlling from the bottom.
Gypsy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gypsy fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gypsy lands a nice shot to the head.


Coalman is rocked!

Gypsy is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Gypsy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). The Gypsy!
A less than humble The Gypsy misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
