And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jacinto Koutras!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jason defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Koutras.

Jason gets caught napping as Koutras dives in and scores a takedown. Jason manages to retain guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koutras wants to pass the guard but Jason is keeping the position.
Koutras is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Koutras trying to control the position from guard on top but Jason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jason is trying to keep Koutras in close.
Koutras trying to control but Jason is working from the bottom.
Koutras pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jason is keeping the position for now.

Jacinto Koutras has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Koutras is looking to clinch but Jason is avoiding it.
Jason just misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jason closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Koutras trying to hold on to Jason's head to control him but Jason postures up.

Jason is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Koutras is just riding it out for now. Jason eventually gives up the hold.
Jason trying to pass the guard but Koutras defending well.
Koutras really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jason. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koutras tries to roll over but Jason keeps him under control.
Jason has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Koutras should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Jason is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Koutras has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jason controlling the pace for now.
Koutras tries to control the position but Jason now has his back.

Jason working for the choke.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jason is not going to allow Koutras to sit and survive in this position.
Koutras tries to escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Koutras wants to get back to his feet.

Jason looking for the choke but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Jason dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Jason shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Koutras tries to roll over but Jason keeps him under control.
Koutras makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Koutras.
Koutras is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Koutras is trying to control the position but Jason postures up.
Jason wants to control from the top but Koutras keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aaron Jason wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Koutras shoots in for a double leg but Jason sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jason lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Jacinto Koutras has been cut.
Jason stuffs the takedown attempt from Koutras. Koutras gets slowly back to his feet.
Jason throws a hook but Koutras blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
An inside leg kick lands from Jason.
Jason will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Koutras shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Koutras showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jason pushes Koutras off looking to stand but Koutras dives back in and keeps control.
Jason gets full guard.

Jason is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Koutras has his hands clasped together but Jason extends an breaks Koutras's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jason.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Aaron Jason!
