The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dag drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dag is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Gioane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dag gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gioane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dag. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dag has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dag cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Dag is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gioane can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Tiberio Gioane's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tiberio Gioane's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Third Dag!
