And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wes Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson clinches up against the cage.
Chapman blocking some punches.
Chapman stalling in the clinch but Jackson improves position.

Jackson prevents the takedown attempt.
Jackson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.


It looks like Wes Chapman has been cut.
Chapman blocks a body shot from Jackson.
Chapman wants a takedown but no success here.

Chapman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Chapman closes the distance and pushes Jackson back into the cage.

Chapman breaks from the clinch.

Chapman darts in and clinches Jackson up against the cage.
Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Chapman has him pressed against the cage.

Chapman tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Chapman tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chapman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches.

Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Chapman wants to clinch.

Jackson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Chapman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jackson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jackson lands a jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
An inside leg kick from Chapman misses.
Chapman throws a nice looking combination but Jackson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Chapman tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Chapman shoots in but no luck this time.
Chapman fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jackson throws a shot from downtown. Chapman moves away and avoids it.

Chapman closes the distance and clinches.

Chapman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jackson jabs at Chapman's body.
Wes Chapman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chapman throws a jab when Jackson was well out of range.
Jackson stuffs the takedown attempt from Chapman. Chapman gets slowly back to his feet.
Chapman's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jackson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Chapman scrambles back to his feet.
Chapman takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Chapman tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chapman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chapman avoids the body shot from Jackson.
Chapman fails to land with a series of punches.
Jackson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Chapman momentarily.


That has opened up Wes Chapman's cut even more.

Chapman clinches up against the cage.

Chapman tightens his grip and picks Jackson up, before dumping him to the ground. Jackson manages to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Chapman stops Jackson from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Chapman is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackson has wrist control.
Jackson keeping full guard, as Chapman tries to pass.
Chapman stops Jackson from standing up.
Jackson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Chapman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Chapman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Chapman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Chapman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dj Jackson dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


The fight stays on the outside here - Chapman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jackson clinches.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Chapman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Chapman misses with a body punch.
Chapman struggles to land a body shot inside as Jackson controls his hands.
Jackson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Chapman backwards.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jackson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chapman's head backwards.

Chapman instigates a clinch.
Chapman is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jackson to keep the fight standing.
Chapman is trying to drag Jackson to the mat but Jackson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dj Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wes Chapman.

Chapman jumps into guard, dragging Jackson to the mat.

Jackson stands up from Chapman's guard - Jackson perhaps looking for a knockout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Chapman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Chapman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jackson!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jackson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

It looks like Dj Jackson has been cut.
Chapman postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Jackson is out cold - huge knockout for Chapman!
