PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Malians (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Captain Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Morgan's choice of entrance music: Colt 45. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Malians drives through with a takedown into guard.
Malians stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morgan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Morgan wants to sweep but no luck.

Morgan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Malians doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Malians manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Malians has hold of Morgan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Morgan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Malians is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Morgan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Morgan misses with a takedown attempt

and Malians counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Morgan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Malians gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Morgan has instead reached around Malians's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Morgan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
