PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kibbe Sly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Blaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kibbe Sly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Master Blaster!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sly moves into the clinch.
Blaster is trying to break the clinch but Sly has him pressed against the cage.
Sly looking for a takedown.

Sly gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Blaster regains guard.
Sly postures up in Blaster's guard and throws a big left but Blaster blocks it.
Sly throws a big elbow that misses.
Sly will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Blaster wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sly manages to pass to side control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sly wants to take a breather but Blaster is having none of it.
Sly passes the guard and advances to mount!
Sly unloads with some shots from mount but Blaster bucks and avoids them well.

Blaster wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Sly.

Sly is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Blaster can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Blaster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sly. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sly jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Blaster is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Blaster and Sly has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Sly throws a strike aimed at the side of Blaster's head but Blaster avoids it well.

Blaster stops Sly from passing to mount.
Sly in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Sly tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Sly sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Blaster is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Blaster avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sly.
Sly lands a decent elbow from side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sly misses with the ground and pound.

Sly tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Sly has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Blaster!

Sly working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Blaster looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Sly! Submission of the night perhaps?

Kibbe Sly decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
