Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho misses with a body kick.
Carvalho feints and as Poynter raises his hands in defense, Carvalho changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Poynter wants to sweep here but Carvalho controlling him for the moment.
Carvalho thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Carvalho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Poynter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Carvalho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Carvalho could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Poynter trying to keep a closed guard but Carvalho is proving a slippery customer.
Carvalho drops back looking for a leg! Poynter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Poynter manages to kick Carvalho off! Carvalho jumps back into Poynter's guard.
Poynter is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carvalho is controlling him.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

It looks like Thiago Carvalho has been cut.
Poynter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Poynter drives through and clinches with Carvalho against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Poynter scores with a nice short uppercut.
Carvalho is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Poynter gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Poynter using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Carvalho has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Dougie Poynter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carvalho shoots for a takedown but Poynter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Carvalho looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Poynter is fending him off so far but Carvalho persists. Nope, Poynter circles away and we're back to standing.
