Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nikola Kolev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Marlius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kolev comes to the cage accompanied by Wake me up inside-Evanescence . The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marlius gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kolev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Marlius fails with the takedown.
Kolev stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kolev wants it to stay on the feet.
Marlius's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kolev connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Marlius scrambles back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marlius tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The referee asks Marlius politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Marlius prefers to stall for the moment though.

Marlius shoots in but Kolev avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marlius misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Marlius cracks Kolev with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Marlius shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kolev's guard.
Marlius has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Marlius closes the distance and clinches up with Kolev, looking for a takedown. Marlius pushes Kolev against the cage but Kolev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kolev looks to land a combination but Marlius avoids it well.

Marlius shoots in and gets a takedown into Kolev's guard.

Rafael Marlius showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rafael Marlius is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Marlius is taking a breather. Kolev says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
