Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chung Chang!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chang avoids the body shot from Thomas.
Chang shoots in but no luck this time.
Chang is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thomas.
Thomas fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Chang is out of range.
Thomas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Thomas lands an overhand right.
Chung Chang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chang tries for a takedown but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chung Chang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thomas lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Thomas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chang.
Thomas lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chang walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Thomas scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Chang. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Chang shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Thomas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Thomas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Chang slips a jab and a cross from Thomas.
Oooooh!!! Thomas has knocked Chang down with a huge combo! Thomas steps away and waves a wobbly Chang back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Chang is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chang on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Chang is rocked!
Thomas cracks Chang with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Chang looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Thomas finish him?
Oh Chang is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Chang leaves his chin hanging out and Thomas seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Chang crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mark Thomas!
