The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mies sprawls well. Mies wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

Mies gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mies scores with a knee to the head.
Mies unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Mies breaks the clinch.
Mies turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Silva looks gassed!
Mies looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Mies lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Mini Mies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
An inside leg kick lands from Mies.
Mies lands with a kick to the temple. Silva shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Mies moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Silva takes a knee right on the jaw!

Silva is rocked!
Mies just leaning against Silva, taking a breather.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Mies finish him?

Mies's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mies lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Silva can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Mies and Silva drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Mies.
