Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Briar McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Wauler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuire kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Boondock Saints Theme. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire connects with a jab.
McGuire moves away from the strike by Wauler.
Wauler thows a left - swing and a miss!
Wauler changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
McGuire misses with a double jab.
Wauler connects with a jab.
Wauler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McGuire.
McGuire thows a body shot but no joy.
A good leg kick by McGuire.
McGuire pivots, looking for a leg kick but Wauler is out of range and McGuire settles back down.
Wauler slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Wauler doesn't manage to clinch there - McGuire circles away.
McGuire takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wauler shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McGuire eats them both and turns towards Wauler to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

McGuire's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wauler is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McGuire.

McGuire does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Wauler lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

McGuire postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Wauler looks a forlorn figure.

You get the feeling that Wauler really doesn't like being in this position too much.
McGuire avoids the attempt from Wauler to control.

McGuire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
