PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lore Helord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Kilgore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilgore has chosen Champion by Chipmunk ft. Chris Brown as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helord avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jab by Kilgore.
Helord misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kilgore misses with an uppercut. Helord saw that one coming.
Helord uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kilgore.
Kilgore throws a series of punches but Helord avoids them all with ease.
Kilgore looks to land a combination but Helord avoids it well.
Kilgore bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Helord's head backwards.
Kilgore pivots, looking for a leg kick but Helord is out of range and Kilgore settles back down.

Helord closes the distance and clinches.

and Helord counters with a shoot takedown. Kilgore fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kilgore controls Helord momentarily but Helord frees himself.

Helord is trying to work for a kimura but Kilgore is defending well.

Helord looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kilgore is trying to maintain the position but Helord is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kilgore connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Kilgore throws a combination. Helord tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Helord moves in looking to clinch but Kilgore pushes him off.

Kilgore drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Helord dodges the ground and pound from Kilgore.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jamal Kilgore will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Helord takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Helord walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and Helord counters with a leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Helord lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kilgore has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kilgore and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A decent looking cross lands there for Kilgore.

Kilgore manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Helord on his heels. He'll look to pass Helord's guard now, I'm sure.
Kilgore wants to get up but he can't break Helord's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Helord can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kilgore controls the pace.

Helord gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kilgore gets to his feet - Helord follows without any prompting.
Kilgore scores with a punch to the head.
Kilgore misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kilgore looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kilgore lands with a nice body punch.
Helord wants to clinch up but Kilgore keeps it at a distance.

and Helord counters with a series of strikes. Kilgore will be more careful next time no doubt.
Helord tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kilgore swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Helord shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kilgore pinned against the cage. Kilgore gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kilgore catches Helord with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Helord tries to clinch up but Kilgore circles away and keeps his distance.

Helord tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kilgore is able to avoid easily.

Helord has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kilgore clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Helord is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kilgore has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Kilgore cracks Helord with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
