Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Omar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Grice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bryan Omar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gary Grice!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Omar looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Grice darts in and clinches Omar up against the cage.

Grice pulls guard successfully.

Grice working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Omar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Omar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Grice looking for a sweep. Not yet Grice, not yet.
Grice is pulling down on Omar's head. It's preventing any offense from Omar, at least for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grice wants to sweep but no luck.
Grice bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Omar's guard.
Omar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Grice sitting in guard here, content to control.
Grice with a nice head shot there.

Omar can't keep his opponent in guard - Grice advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Grice not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Grice perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Grice seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Grice lands a nice short elbow.

Grice is working for a kimura but Omar is defending it quite comfortably.
Grice is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
BOOM! Grice connects with a massive shot to the dome!

It looks like Bryan Omar has been cut.
Grice is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Omar is rocked!

Bryan Omar's cut is getting worse.
Grice is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Omar goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Grice!

After the fight, Gary Grice was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
