PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Falco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Norris's choice of entrance music: Chuck Norris - Eyes of a Ranger. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Norris looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Falco shoots in for a takedown but Norris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Falco wants to clinch but Norris slips to the side
and Norris counters with a nice body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Falco.
Norris lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Both fighters circling a little - Norris finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Norris takes a swing at Falco's ribcage but misses.
Falco shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Norris but Norris pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Norris throws a low kick but it's checked well by Falco.

Falco won't allow Norris to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Norris can do anything to dispel that myth.
Falco trying to control the position from guard on top but Norris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Norris displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Falco.
Norris connects with a leg kick. Falco looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Rocco Falco is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Norris shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Falco pinned against the cage. Falco gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Falco tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Norris counters with a low kick, right behind Falco 's knee.
Norris throws a leg kick which misses Falco's front leg but catches the back leg as Falco tries to avoid it.
Norris moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Norris stuffs the takedown attempt from Falco. Falco gets slowly back to his feet.
Norris scores with a leg kick.

Falco avoids the head kick by Norris.
Norris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Falco throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Norris's waist but Norris gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Falco off to one side.
A solid leg kick lands there for Norris.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Falco takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Norris buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Norris misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Falco takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Falco takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Falco needs to keep his hands up - Norris had a free shot at his head there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bill Norris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Norris is looking to work some ground and pound but Falco has wrist control.

Norris wants to get up but he can't break Falco's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Falco is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Norris defends well.
Falco keeping moving, preventing Norris from controlling successfully.

Falco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Norris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Norris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Norris working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Norris trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Falco escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Norris gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Falco looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Norris wants to stand but Falco has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Norris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Falco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Norris postures up in Falco's guard and throws a big left but Falco blocks it.

Falco is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Norris has his hands clasped together but Falco extends an breaks Norris's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Falco.
