PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hoyt Jurgensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alpha Male (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurgensen comes into the arena with Peter, Paul & Mary - If I Had A Hammer blaring out of the sound system. Male is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by One 24. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Male cracks Jurgensen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Male throws a leg kick but Jurgensen sees it coming and moves out of range.
Jurgensen takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jurgensen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Male.
Jurgensen slips under a jab from Male.

Jurgensen darts in and clinches Male up against the cage.
Male scores with a nice hook to the head.
Male tries a body shot but Jurgensen blocks it.
Male can't find room to land a body shot as Jurgensen controls the action.

Male tries to work over Jurgensen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Male tries to throw a body punch but Jurgensen avoids it by throwing Male back against the cage.

Male stuffs the takedown attempt from Jurgensen. Jurgensen gets slowly back to his feet.
Male misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Male throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jurgensen tries to clinch but Male is having none of it.

Alpha Male is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Some bone on bone action there as Jurgensen checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Jurgensen is taking a breather. Male says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jurgensen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Male wants to stand and escape but Jurgensen is having none of it.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Male throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jurgensen's head.
Male lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Male has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jurgensen is working away from the top position though.

Jurgensen is keen to just control but Male is a slippery customer.

Jurgensen maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Male could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Jurgensen has cracked it and Male is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Jurgensen!
