Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Boogie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Smithwick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mick Smithwick!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boogie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smithwick tries to clinch but Boogie is having none of it.
Smithwick takes the fight into the clinch.
Smithwick breaks the clinch.
Boogie shoots in for a double leg but Smithwick sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smithwick looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Smithwick!
It looks like Dan Boogie has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smithwick fails to land with a series of punches.
Smithwick misses with a wild combination.
Smithwick tries to close the distance and clinch but Boogie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smithwick throws a right and a left that both miss.
Smithwick darts in and clinches Boogie up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A short uppercut from Smithwick.
Smithwick is trying to break the clinch but Boogie is controlling him.
Smithwick has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Smithwick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boogie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smithwick was covering up waiting for the punch and Boogie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Smithwick pushes Boogie off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Boogie shoots in for a double leg but Smithwick sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smithwick wants to clinch
and Boogie counters with a straight right hand.
A big left from Boogie misses.

Smithwick gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smithwick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Oooooh!!! Smithwick has knocked Boogie down with a huge combo! Smithwick steps away and waves a wobbly Boogie back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Smithwick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boogie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boogie gets tackled into the cage by Smithwick. Smithwick maintains the clinch.
Smithwick wants to break free but Boogie has control.
Boogie tries to break free but Smithwick pushes him back against the cage.
Smithwick pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Boogie throws a left and a right that both miss
and Smithwick counters with a crisp one two that drops Boogie! Smithwick thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Boogie to his feet! Boogie is in big trouble!
Boogie is rocked!
Boogie is breathing heavily.
Boogie misses with a body kick.
Oh Boogie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smithwick gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Smithwick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boogie seems to have got his legs back now.
Smithwick gets a clinch.
Smithwick manages to break the clinch.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Smithwick has cracked Boogie with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Smithwick lands another huge swinging hook and Boogie tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Boogie, before Smithwick can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mick Smithwick!
Mick Smithwick was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
