Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kane Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Breneman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kane Collins has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kane Collins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steven Breneman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Breneman has managed to clinch.
Collins can't get the takedown.
Collins tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Breneman just stands there and leans against the cage.

Breneman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Collins can't fight it off and eventually Breneman manages to take the fight to the floor. Collins looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Breneman content to stall in guard here.
Collins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Collins wants to sweep but no luck.
Breneman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Breneman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Collins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Collins has escaped and now he's on top!
Collins wants to control from the top but Breneman keeps moving.
Breneman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Collins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Breneman lands a decent shot there.

Breneman looking for a guillotine here but Collins defends easily.
Collins looking to pass the guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Breneman holds on and takes a little breather.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Breneman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Breneman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Breneman pushes Collins off and gets back to his feet.

Breneman gets a clinch.
Collins has Breneman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Breneman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kane Collins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Breneman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Breneman pulls guard.

Breneman has his foot on Collins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Collins works his way back into a safe position though.
Collins trying to control the position from guard on top but Breneman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Breneman tries to strike from the bottom.
Breneman is looking to stand up but Collins isn't so interested in that idea.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Breneman moves into the clinch successfully.

Breneman is trying to trip Collins. He has hold of a leg but Collins is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Breneman persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Breneman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Collins throws a series of punches but Breneman avoids them all with ease.
Breneman lands a jab.
Breneman darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Collins tries to keep at a distance but Breneman has taken the fight into the clinch.
Breneman is trying to break the clinch but Collins is controlling him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Collins wants to break free but Breneman has control.
Collins wants a takedown.
Breneman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Collins.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice sprawl there from Breneman as Collins shoots in.

Collins gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Breneman is stalling in the full guard.
Breneman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Breneman stands up and waves to Collins to follow him.

Breneman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Breneman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Breneman is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Collins has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Collins!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Breneman is pulling down on Collins's head to control his posture.
Breneman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Breneman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Collins defends it easily.
Breneman wants to stand up but Collins is controlling him.

Collins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Breneman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Collins has picked Breneman up and slammed him! Breneman can't keep hold of the triangle and Collins manages to pass to side control!
Breneman wants to control but Collins postures up.
Breneman manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Breneman gets back to full guard.
Collins pushing down on Breneman's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Collins wants to take a breather but Breneman is having none of it.
Breneman is looking to control Collins's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Breneman avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steven Breneman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Breneman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Collins to the mat! Collins manages to get full guard.
Breneman engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Breneman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Collins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Breneman has managed to get both his arms back between Collins's legs - danger averted.

Breneman stands and steps away. Collins gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Breneman feints and as Collins raises his hands in defense, Breneman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Breneman wants to pass the guard but Collins is keeping the position.
Collins is trying to control the position but Breneman postures up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Breneman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Breneman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Breneman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Breneman looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Collins looking for a sweep. Not yet Collins, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Breneman tries to free his leg and advance position but Collins is retaining full guard.
Collins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Collins shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Breneman defends it nicely.

Breneman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Collins's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Breneman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Collins throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Collins gets caught flat footed, as Breneman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Collins being controlled here, momentarily.
Collins wants to stand but Breneman is controlling the position.
Breneman sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Breneman stands and steps away. Collins gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Breneman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Breneman lands a couple of elbows.

Breneman gets to his feet. Collins looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Breneman thuds a left hand into Collins's body.

Breneman clinches.

Breneman jumps guard and drags Collins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Breneman keeping moving, preventing Collins from controlling successfully.
Breneman has Collins pulled in close to control his posture.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Breneman manages to escape and get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Steven Breneman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Breneman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
