The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patched displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nogueira throws out the jab.
Patched takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Patched throws a nice looking combination but Nogueira bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nogueira jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Nogueira shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Patched is trying to defend but Nogueira finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Patched has hold of Nogueira's hands but Nogueira slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Nogueira got a little sloppy there for a moment and Patched has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nogueira has managed to get both his arms back between Patched's legs - danger averted.

Nogueira is fighting to break Patched's control of his arms but Patched is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Patched has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nogueira can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Patched working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nogueira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nogueira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cabbage Patched's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Cabbage Patched's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
